The Topic for this Meetup is: How equal can/should society be?

Hey folks,

Hope you've had a great summer!

After an August break, Tokyo Socrates Cafe is back for some lively and thoughtful discussion. The topic for the September meeting is: How equal can/should society be?

We're also happy to announce that Makiko has agreed to become an assistant organizer! Makiko has been a great addition to Soc Cafe since joining earlier this year after her return to Japan from a looooong stay in the States.

As always, if there are more than 10 people, we'll split into smaller groups.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1) The last couple of meetups, we've had a lot more people than we expected to show up. While we're, of course, always happy to welcome the more the merrier, please keep your RSVP numbers (including guests) as up-to-date as possible, even if that means updating the morning of the event. Gonpachi has always been very accommodating, but as our group grows, it's also become much more difficult to keep us organized and set up with drinks and food.

2) Please try to be at the event no later than 3:30 and if you think you wouldn't be able to make it until well after that, please consider just meeting us at Hemel (the Belgian beer bar) from about 5pm onwards. In the last meeting we had many late-comers, and, again, while we're always happy to see new and familiar faces, it can be a disruption to the discussion as well as to the waitstaff to try to accommodate a continuously growing group (last month we went from one to two to three tables, luckily there was room for us).

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation so that we can all enjoy these monthly get-togethers.
