I decided to push back the next Meetup another week. A couple of members who want to come have other commitments on the afternoon of the 20th, and those who RSVPed "Yes" for the 20th can also come on the 27th.

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and is looking forward to a successful 2008. Hmm, "a successful 2008"? Sounds good, but what exactly does it mean? What is success? Having just concluded another year of our lives and embarked on a new one, we naturally stumble onto this question in our reflective moments. Is success getting that promotion at work or good grades in school? Is success moving into a bigger house or buying a nicer car? Is it finding an ideal romantic partner? Are society's standards of success skewed, perhaps? Is genuine success different things to different people?
The nature of success will be the topic of discussion for the January Socrates Cafe Meetup. I hope to see you there.
