Modern update to the Socrates debate. All open minds welcome. The floor is open for thoughtful discussion and exploration using the classic Socratic method of asking questions. No preparation is required; all inquisitive minds are welcome. Ages 16 and up. We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6 to 8 pm at Kaleidoscope Learning Center at 27 Main Street, Blairstown, NJ.
Socrates Cafe is a movement to bring philosophy outside the academic setting. It started in Montclair, NJ about 12 years ago to help those of us who are not professional philosophers develop our critical thinking skills by interacting respectfully and actively with others who share a love of ideas. There are hundreds of Socrates Cafes across the US, in the Americas, Europe and Asia. We meet on the last Monday of each month from mid-September to early June. During the summer, we meet on one …
